My photo
Gail was born in Sydney Australia and relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2007. She primarily works in acrylics and paints in the style of contemporary abstraction, using bright colors and many textures. Her travels throughout America have provided the inspiration for her most recent collection, "Painting America". .................. September 15th 2010 After three amazing years in Wilmington N.C., coming back to a country town on the Mid North coast of N.S.W. Australia was like stepping onto another world. But here I am after seven months still unpacking and settling in. My studio is a three bay American Barn nestled amongst the gum trees on my five acre property on the Wilson River near Port Macquarie, at the moment I share it with frogs, furniture, cars and bikes, but it won't be to much longer before '' Gum Scrub Studio Gallery" will be up and running. Watch my blog for updates.

For the last few months I've been painting like mad !! My first exhibition since returning to Australia is next weekend, 1st to 3rd )ctober 2011, with an opening reception on Friday 30th September from 6 - 9 pm. I'm so excited about this show, I've included some of the ''Painting America " collection as well as new works . I guess the start of" Painting Australia" would be a good description for many of the paintings in the show, but to me its a way of saying I've finally " Come Home " By the way y'all invited !!

Laurieton United Services Club 20th-22nd May

"Sydney My City-Lady Northcott''

The first in a series of works dedicated to my home city. I've painted many cities over the past few years, but none rival our beautiful city and harbour. This painting is an interpretation of a photo taken on a trip home, whilst living overseas.

EXHIBITION " LIVING ON THE EDGE '' at the GLASSHOUSE Port Macquarie till the end of March

The landscape is scorched and barren, devoid of life on THE EDGE of extinction.

The rains arrive, the river flows cool and life giving

Rejuvenation, the landscape blooms the trees abound, no longer LIVING ON THE EDGE
